# 425 - Lighthouses of France

I would never have known if not for the alert from my friend Daniel from France that there is a Lighthouse on this stamp. Thank you Daniel for the cover and the alert.

The Lighthouse on the stamp is Chateau d'If Lighthouse.

The Château d'If is a fortress and former prison located on the Île d'If, the smallest island in the Frioul archipelago, situated about 1.5 kilometres offshore from Marseille in southeastern France. The lighthouse is situated inside the fortress.

This stamp was issued on 11th June 2012.
